September 2023 – our partner Fitoplancton Marino wins the NutraIngredients Asia Sports Nutrition Award 2023 for their ingredient TetraSOD®.
TetraSOD® is a unique marine ingredient derived from the green microalga species Tetraselmis chuii. It is produced under patent-protected technology at the facilities of the company Fitoplancton Marino, S.L. (El Puerto de Santa María, Cádiz, Spain).
TetraSOD® – the ingredient
TetraSOD® is NOT AN EXTRACT. This ingredient is based on the unicellular marine microalga Tetraselmis chuii. The freeze dried (lyophilized) cell becomes the perfect natural capsule for the Active Ingredients inside the cell, preventing them from oxidation or further degradation.
TetraSOD® induces endogenous production of SOD, GPx and CAT in human cells, boosts antioxidant pathways and modulates the immune system via regulation of the NRF 2 /HMOX 1 antioxidant/anti inflammatory pathway.
TetraSOD® is more than just an antioxidant. It is a proven and scientifically researched ingredient that prevents cell damage under many oxidative stress conditions. It is widely recommended for many health challenge formulations.
